Kidwalk Gait Trainer
The KidWalk is designed to help children become active participants in the world around them through hands-free, self-initiated movement. Independent mobility plays an important role in the development of cognitive, language, motor, and social skills, while also supporting playful learning, exploration, and participation alongside others.
Developed to support children with more significant mobility needs, the KidWalk encourages early movement and exploration in a safe and supportive way. It provides stable pelvic and trunk support while allowing the child to practise walking with a more natural gait pattern and interact with others at eye level.
The concept behind the KidWalk is based on typical motor development, recognising the importance of early walking experiences for both physical development and functional mobility. Early supported walking may also assist in promoting more effective movement patterns and supporting healthy musculoskeletal development.
The KidWalk is suitable for children who require a supportive walking aid for ambulation and who fit within the sizing parameters of the device. It is generally suited to children aged approximately 5 to 12 years, with a maximum user weight of 40 kg. It may be appropriate for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, and other diagnoses requiring supportive gait assistance.
Please note: The KidWalk is designed for indoor and outdoor use on smooth surfaces only. Please refer to the user manual and safety instructions before use.
